Child Abuse:
The Hidden Bruises
The statistics on
physical
child abuse
are alarming. It
is estimated hundreds
of thousands
of
children are physically
abused each year by a
parent or close
relative.
Thousands die. For those who survive, the emotional trauma remains
long after the external bruises have healed. Communities and the courts
recognize that these emotional “hidden bruises” can be treated. Early
recognition and treatment is important to minimize the long term effect of
physical abuse.

Founded in

Bucks County Chapter
Incorporated in 2006
Brian "Space" Dungan, while on a
run in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, decided that there should be a Biker Charity
for Children.
Thus from that cold PA November run was born the FIRST actual
Charity for Children founded and operated by Bikers. B.A.C.A., Inc. is a registered non-profit
Child Abuse
Awareness and Prevention Group founded in 1987 and incorporated in 1988 with
chapters and representatives in several states.
B.A.C.A. of Bucks County, PA.,
Inc. strives to create a safer environment for children who have been neglected
or abused, by providing physical and emotional support for both the child and
the family. We work with local and state officials and agencies to serve
and protect these children and tirelessly campaign to prevent all types of abuse
of children before it starts.
Examples of this
are...
Attending Trials and Court
Hearings. We arrive at the courthouse in person and in force in support of the
child and give emotional support.
We provide monetary gifts to
families of child abuse victims.
We give educational
presentations in schools and at community events relating to the prevention of
child abuse and internet safety for kids.
We participate in events and toy
runs organized by other well-known clubs and organizations to support their
missions.
We work with our local police
departments by participating in community awareness events and we hold
fund-raisers to enable us to give financial support to abuse
victims.
